I think this is a little mould ... ehm a little mould that needs something in it because I see a little hinge and a handle, it would have been hot ah .. gingerbread cookies .. maybe a little mould for an artwork something ... from Zeeland .. metal I think ... I cannot see very well, there’s a human figure inside and ... I’m curious to know what should come out if ‘t ehm ... when it would be finished.

Zeeuws Museum x Das Leben am Haverkamp
“Ik zie…ribbeltjes…hele spannende ribbeltjes” is part of the exhibition Zeeuws Museum x Das Leben am Haverkamp.
In the early summer of 2017, the Zeeuws Museum, as instructed by Das Leben am Haverkamp, invites 40 visitors to give a description of 40 randomly selected objects of the museum’s collection out of storage. Objects in the storage rooms are anonymous, without judgment, without a story. It is that anonymity that appeals to the imagination. The subjective descriptions of regional costume, jewellery and household goods induced them to develop a new collection without ever having seen the objects described.
With this method Das Leben am Haverkamp aims to create a bridge between past and future, between knowing and fantasizing, between the image of the self and that of the other.
The exhibition has been on show from 17 February 2018 until 10 June 2019.

It reminds me of an object that is worn very often, is still worn or at least is used ... uh ... by all sorts of people, you come across this in all kinds of cultures, it’s a really a very favourite .. footwear I would directly dare to say.
Sandals, 2018, cast silicone, nylon ribbon, brass details

Ehh .. I do not have any immediate thought with this object .. uhm .. yes two symmetrical objects .. it’s also difficult to determine what material it is made of, it looks iron-like ehhh .. it’s hard to date ... it it even has something Roman about it in my opinion .. ehmm ... it reminds me either very big .. ehm .. yes .. jewellery items very big earrings maybe even .. or of buttons ... ehm .. I would actually also like to have more information on that about that item, it really intrigues me ehm ... not immediately something that I that I would want to have at home because I do think it’s hard eh to to properly define it at the moment.

Yes I can see something with a kind I find it a rather eh modern object, I would not place it in the old days like that, but I feel that you could put baguettes in and eh .. or or some of those eh .. large ehhh ... eeeh of those long butcher knives or something like that which are then protected by that steel structure there’s not much more I can tell you about it.

Uhm .. I see a very nice pattern, very complicated uhm .. which uhm .. I think has been crocheted in it uhm ... it is not clear to me what it is uhm can have some sort of image with it eh .. uhm .. it looks eh .. like something that has been made extra beautiful what you could also make in a more simple fashion and could use .. uh so that’s why it is very special .. eh .. I have not seen anything before .. anything like this ehm and so it actually fascinates me very much what this is because it uhm .. was made with such a beautiful pattern, why would that be .. ehm.

To me this object too looks as if it’s ... quite old ... and it also looks to me as if it has been lying on the bottom of the sea for a long time and as if it may have been pottery .. and I wonder who used it and indeed how long ago that was.
Bowling ball, 2018, clay, gilded details, brass handle
VS06_OB08 — Visitor 6, object 8
I see a a somewhat wonderfully object with lots of details ... you have to look at it closely as to also be able to see the details to see them well .. it it seems a bit oriental .... it has a lot of eh holes ... it it it’s high .. it seems to be made from metal, but I think it’s been mainly painted ... so it does not have to be metal ... it has a golden ... yeah appearance.
object 8, visitor 6 - Totem pole, 2018, cast epoxy, laser cut acrylic discs, concrete foot
VS15_OB13 — Visitor 15, object 13
I see .. ridges .. very exciting ridges .. but you can also do something very eh practical with it .. which has to do with food .. but can also be .. looked at .. in a strong .. metaphorical sense eh .. all kinds of things can roll through it and how it comes rolling out well eh you can only wonder.
Rolling pin, 2018, cast epoxy rings and handles, gilded wood
VS31_OB29 — Visitor 31, object 29
I can see chequered pattern, a blue chequered pattern .. and that is being worn in the kitchen, it looks a bit ... ehh ... yes agricultural actually eh a little eh I think that farmers’ wives have eh worn this and besides, maybe still wear it around this area and ... yes.
Apron, 2018, flock printed latex, nylon ribbon, brass details
VS02_OB04 — Visitor 2, object 4
These two items remind me of ... a visit to grandmother, and that would come from underneath her .. skirts ... it has two cute .. pooily little things on top.
Garter, 2018, printed latex, tassels, stockings, metal clips
VS29_OB31 — Visitor 29, object 31
... ehm .. this doesn’t ... really appeal to me ... it’s undoubtedly beautifully made .. it’s a combination of .. two .. materials one of which quite a .. precious material and the other ... maybe too but I ... the colour ... it tells me little about it... I don’t know don’t know what material it is ... uh and uhm what you see is yeah ... something that does not appeal to me honestly ... ehm ... I think that it’s an .. yeah it is rather nice I I suspect that the owner to whom this belonged was quite ... ehm .. did have money I think it’s something to to .. to do with status.
Roderick, 2018, cast epoxy belt buckle, leather, brass
VS22_OB24 — Visitor 22, object 24
This eh .. to me indeed also seems to be a utensil and .. ehm .. yeah ... indeed some something surgical or maybe from a kitchen something that can be used in a kitchen ... it again also looks very old .. I am very curious what it is actually.
Surgical tool, 2018, cast epoxy, brass
VS26_OB28 — Visitor 26, object 28
Well this seems to me something festive it’s long .. elongated it looks like you can put it on .. eh .. there’s some very beautiful beadwork on it .. eh there’s all kinds of small details and you have to look at it really closely for it to stand out ... eh it’s got a bit of a black colour with black stones .. I really have no idea what it is or what it is used for.
Mask acrylic, 2018, vacuum formed PET with glass paint, beadwork
VS39_OB37 — Visitor 39, object 37
Well what I see is a ... I think it’s a piece of clothing ... but ... [talks unintelligible outside of the microphone] oh for that it is extremely tiny so it won’t be that kind of thing .. oh god what it is that is a mystery to me what beautiful borders ... ha bib haha but no that’s not it as well ... oh dear ... it is something that you tie around ... I don’t know ... a garment, that’s all I know.
Mask lace, 2018, printed and flock printed latex, lace work
VS12_OB10 — Visitor 12, object 10
This .. garment .. for ladies I think for a .. little lady .. very beautifully compiled, is invisible for everyone ... men should not see this, men will not see this .. and also women, when wearing this, you don’t see it but they know that they are wearing it ... by wearing they might also feel affirmed in their personal dignity ... it looks very nice .. made of lace I think with .. adornments ‘round it ... again made with ... care ... I also think that the person who wore this would have put it on with care ... and would be ... delighted .. to go around in it without anyone seeing it ... only she would know .. what she wore under her skirts.
Panties, 2018, printed and flock printed latex, embroidered with beads
